I had a little lovely canary.
He sang sweet love songs.
From morning till evening,
He only sang sweet, sweet songs.
One summer morning,
After I bathed him in the sun,
I forgot to close the door cage.
I saw him flew away.
In the evening on the same day,
My neighbor brought back him,
My poor yellow bird to me.
He had a wound on his chest.
All I could do was cry over him.
It's a cool, cruel world.
It's a cool, cool, cruel world.
It's a cool, cool, cruel world out there.
I kissed him goodbye, and buried him
On my backyard.
